Monterey vs Palma- Monterey has a ton of speed in the backfield and they have the ability to make big plays.  They returned everyone in the backfield from last year's MBL tri-champion team.  Jimmy Hill is slippery, and he can throw the ball if necessary.  Hill, Ambros Chioini, and Dante Murphy can bust out on big plays, and Big Shaunne Katoa can pound it up the middle.  I haven't seen a Monterey game yet (just highlight clips), so I'm a little unsure of what they have in the trenches offensively or defensively, but they usually have a couple of big guys and they are sound with run blocking. Palma is still struggling to find any sort of identity on offense, and the loss of LB Alex Rodini for the season seems like it has dealt a significant blow to Palma's defensive chemistry.
That said; Carnazzo rallies his squad and the Chieftains win a low scoring affair.  Monterey has faced 2 cupcake defenses and an improved PG team.  While Palma's D may be in a bit of flux, Monterey hasn't seen anything like it yet this year.

Seaside vs NMC-  It's easy to say that Seaside could suffer a letdown this week after last weeks win and a big jump in the SBG polls.  Seaside has been swatted by the Condors the last 2 years in a row.  The Spartans will try to score early and often and to put this one away quick.  At 2-1 NMC is a solid team.  Rufino Calderon is one of the best players in the Pacific Division and NMC's team speed is good.  This is their chance to knock off a very talented squad.  On paper, the match-ups favor Seaside.

Carmel vs King City-  I don't know much about the MTAL this year.  I watched the Carmel- Soquel and was very unimpressed by Carmel's D.  Coach Anderson has probably made some adjustments since then, but they don't have the size or talent they had last year.  I've heard that King City's DeAndre Sherif is very dangerous and can break out huge plays and Jake Stephens can sling it.  Still; sorry; King City is no Soquel.  Carmel wins big.

Greenfield vs. PG- Has Greenfield thrown the ball yet this year?  I know very little about both teams.  It sounded from the write-up in the Herald that PG had some injury issues after last week's pounding by Monterey.  Pick-em, I'll take PG.
